How To Measure My Wall?
- Measure the width and height of the complete wall.
-
You should not order the wallpaper in separate parts if you want the pattern to continue seamlessly between connecting walls. Add up your wall measurements.
-
IMPORTANT: Add at least 4 inches (10 cm) to the measurements for each wall, both width and height, to have some flexibility during installation.
-
We always produce your wallpaper in the exact measurements you specify when ordering.
For tips on measuring different wall types please see the cases below.
Standard Walls
Measure the width and height of the complete wall. Please double-check to make sure you get it right.
Multiple Walls For Murals
Measure the width of each of your walls and combine these measurements into one when ordering. Add 10 cm (4 inches) per wall as a safety margin. Then measure the height. Always start from the highest point and also add 10 cm (4 inches) to that measurement. You don't need to order the mural as two separate parts.
Sloped Walls
Measure the wall on the highest and widest point, ignoring any slopes. The sloped part is cut away during installation.
Multi-sloped walls
Measure the wall on the longest part in both width and height. The sloped part is cut away during installation.
Walls with Doors, Windows, or Obstacles
Measure the width and the height of the complete wall. All obstacles will be cut out during installation.
Staircases
Measure the wall at its highest and widest point, ignoring slopes. The sloping part, any excess, is cut away during installation.
***Note- Each wallpaper or mural order is custom printed with great care and effort. We cannot guarantee color accuracy for separately placed orders. To ensure that you have enough material to cover your project, we highly recommend ordering approximately 2.5-4 inches extra than your calculated amount. If you need assistance with your order, please do not hesitate to contact us.

I LOVE this wallpaper. I have wallpapered a handful of times prior to using Inktopia, but I’ve never used a vinyl paper prior or pasted the walls instead of the paper. I have to say, this was one of the easiest applications I’ve ever done. The paper is so much more durable than standard wallpaper. I also think that the vinyl will be easier to clean and will be longer lasting against any potential moisture.
I ordered custom sized panels because I wanted the print to be much smaller so that it was completely visible in between cabinetry in our laundry room. It came out perfect. I LOVE that it’s precut in panels versus vs one long roll of paper. So so so helpful!
I would recommend adding 1 extra panel width if you’re doing an entire room. The order assumes that all corners will be plumb and that’s rarely the case. I did not order an extra panel and we had to over lap the paper in a corner because of this, which ultimately left us short going around the room. We planned for this by starting in a corner that would be completely covered by a floor to ceiling cabinet. Just something to think about!
Overall, the entire experience was great. The customer service before ordering was awesome and super helpful. The sample came quickly, the order came fairly quickly, the quality of the paper is great, and the application was a breeze. Highly recommend Inktopia for your next wallpaper project!
Such rich colors, gorgeous design. I cannot wait to complete my office
Hello, I am very interested in your mystic damask cat wallpaper. My partner and I are trying to figure out how much we would need and we are a bit confused. From the image with the 39" measurement, it looks like we need 2 different rolls of paper, to make the full pattern, is that the case please? The wall we want to cover has a section above a door, so it's not a standard rectangle. I'd send you a drawing to help show what we need, but I can't upload one! Thank you
Hi! Thank you so much for your interest in our Mystic Damask Cat wallpaper!
By default, the pattern repeat for that design is 78 inches horizontally. However, you also have the option to choose Custom Dimensions—this allows you to input your total wall width and height, customize the pattern repeat, and see how the panels will be cut before ordering.
If you’d like to send a drawing or get help figuring out the layout, feel free to email it to us directly and we’ll be happy to guide you through the best way to order for your space!
Let me know if you have any questions!
